About Art

Location: South Bank, London
Banksy's Girl With Balloon is one of the more talked about pieces in his career. The original work depicts a young girl losing a heart-shaped balloon to the wind.  There is also a small quote etched into the staircase that reads, "There is always hope." The girl is seen standing in front of a gust of wind in black and white. Her balloon is painted in bright red.  The heart-shape represents love, hope, innocence, childhood, and even self-confidence. It is not clear if the piece is supposed to represent a loss of hope or that what you desire is within your reach.  The quote seems to suggest the latter.

About Banksy

Despite not calling himself an artist, Banksy has been considered by some as talented in that respect; he uses his original street art form, combined with Banksy stencil style.  Due to the shroud of secrecy surrounding his real identity and his subversive character, Banksy has achieved somewhat of a cult following with his street art from some of the younger age group within the stenciling community.  Tagging walls and billboards in the dark of night, sneaking around with a secret identity in urban areas. Leaving his political mark on the world for all to enjoy for free. The infamous UK guerrilla artist, Banksy, is hitting the streets hard in London, Bristol, Australia, the USA, and just about everywhere in between.  It's not only the curiosity of his identity that makes the artist famous, it's his impeccable political pieces and artwork that stir up discussions on the underlying themes.  By calling attention to the issues depicted in his pieces, Banksy's controversial work requires people to think deeply about the issues he's attempting to bring to light.

We pride ourselves on using only the highest quality materials that produced in USA. All of the materials we use are sourced from US-based vendors, we do not buy from China.  All of the images are printed on latest industrial wide format Epson printers. We use exclusively top of the line Fredrix brand Cotton canvas. Our wood frames are sourced from California and are cut to our specifications by the local mill factory.

There are lots of different ways to put a canvas on a wall. At PingoWorld, we believe that your journey with us begins long before your artwork arrives at your door.  We believe in using some of the best material available to insure that your experience with your art is superlative from the first day through decades to come. It all starts with the work of art, regardless of it being the Mona Lisa or your child on a beach!  Our group of graphics experts uses industry leading software and techniques to make sure the image is transferred in the highest possible resolution,  color correctness and vibrancy.

We only use archival quality canvas and inks for our products. Our canvas is coated to provide superior color fastness, fade resistance and a degree of moisture resistance (don't leave it out in the rain!).  Bars for stretching the canvas are all sourced from respected mills and are kiln dried to minimize any moisture retention which may produce warping.

For gallery wraps, our trained craftsmen hand assemble the bars into frames, stretch the canvas over the frame and staple into place. Corner keys are inserted to allow you to adjust tautness should it ever become necessary... just gently tap the corner keys deeper into their grooves using a small hammer.
